Simcard change only after restore

Hi

Have an Iphone 4 16GB which is and was neverlocked.

The phone has some issues with reading the Simcard..

For example:

When I restore my phone and activate it (with an AT&T simcard) it workes fine.....(if I want to change the simcard it says sim error, sim not valid)

If I restore it though, and I activate it afterwards with a t-mobile simcard it works fine with the tmobile card, but NOT with the AT&T simcard anymore...

any idea what the problem is here?

it's pretty weird

I am guessing here a little Mirko because it's hard to keep up with all the changes with IOS updates, I have noticed with the last update when a restore is made, you cant complete the restore without an active sim in the device, it must lock your phone to that carrier, at least temporarily, if you could get the network settings for whatever carrier you want to use and manually enter them into an unlocked phone you should be able to get the same results as a fresh restore to change carriers.
