Why won't my iHome charge my iPod?

Up until a few days ago my ihome a100 would charge my ipod touch 4th generation....Then I tried charging it with the cord, I got a note saying the cord was incompadible as a charger....it still charges when connected to my computer via the usb port, but now my i home won't charge the ipod...help!!!!! I've already tried a factory reset....
