Anyone has a solution to repair my USB, no MB replacement?

Hi,

I have a Macbook Pro, early 2011 "13.

One year ago, the USB port closest to me stopped working. It's strange because if I connect a device (like an external HD), the power lamp burns (without effectively powering), but it's impossible to connect.

I already tried several things, but so far, no solution.

Would a clean instal of OS X do something?

The MPB isn't in guarantee anymore and I'am afraid a repair would cost a lot of money.

Thanks for you help,

Thomas

It's possible you blew the fuse link on the USB ports power services. Try using a self powered device to see if that works.

You could also try running AHT to see if it sees a problem.

You can try to reinstall OS X, but I don't think it'll solve the problem. It looks more like a Logic Board problem.
