Is this a logic board defect? --> Any chances to repair? (even weired)

Hi,

My hard disk is definitely okay, the RAM as well.

I have display on boot and sound.

The keyboard is working and the trackpad too. Drive on USB works too!

This all was tested on other computers or MacBook booting selection menu.

WiFi seems to have a problem because on internet recovery i can see the networks but cannot connect! Ethernet works fine though and downloads recovery.

I cannot start any OS. Tried lion and ubuntu on both internal HD and USB Drive. Both crash shortly after boot and the macbook shuts down suddenly.

Lion verbose ends on: "bug: launchctl.c:2486 [...] "

I think my last chance is to bake the logic board? Or are there any there suggestions on the error?

There are some known issues with the internet recovery option not working on some systems. I would focus on re-installation of the OS via the OS installer application.

Hi,

do you mean to boot over network?

And what caches do you mean? The hardware caches on the logic board?

I mean put the drive in and external case and boot from it... Cocktail has a cleanup/checkup routine that it runs.

as i said... unfortunatly there is no booting possible.

You can also run your MacBook in target disk mode from the second system you could try manually deleting the cache files (if you know were they all are) Cocktail or most other utilities like this require the disk to be the boot volume as you can't get it to that point it won't help you here.

The best bet here is make a backup of your data and copy over the OS installer using your system in target mode (in case it's not on this system) then re-partition & reformat your drive and re-install the OS. I would start with Apples Disk Utility and then re-install your OS. If that fails you really need to get down deep as the master boot loader may have a problem. I would recommend Drive Genius to fix that There are others out there I just like what also comes with DG as a package.
