What components/chips control or have to do with the LCD working?

I have determined that my logic board is somehow broken causing it to not display anything but a grey backlight no matter what screen i use. what components, areas, etc should i be looking at besides the lcd ribbon connectors as none of those are broken or bent. help? schematics or something?

Answer this question I have this problem too

The gray light only means that your backlight is on :-) does it sync with iTunes? does it still have regular function? what have you tried and is this a new display? Have you tried it in another phone?

I'm going to try what you said below but as of now yes, it works, functions, responds to itunes, etc. Just no display. It is a new lcd/dig assembly and i tried the display on another phone and it functioned fine.

Austin Harris, there are quite a few and it is not just a matter of saying that it is this particular component. Check the attached diagram for the LCD connector, you can check those components and see if it makes a difference.
