Wet iPhone! Need tips

This morning i woke up and my iPhone 4 was wet, i believe i knocked a cup of water on it before i went to sleep and i guess I didn't notice what it had done. This morning i woke up and it said to plug it in to my charger. So i took a shower came back and it showed that it was 6:02 P.M, i had 100% battery and was searching for service. I was able to browse through my apps smoothly . Then i unplugged my charger and the phone went blank. I plugged it back up and it showed the charging symbol with the low battery. My mother is currently out buying white rice to soak the phone in. Is there any more ways i can fix it? (Note: The phone got wet about 8 hours ago.)

Austin Ray, I suggest that you no longer try to turn it on or try to charge it. Disassemble it using this guide and properly clean it. Use this guide to clean it. It was written for a 3G but all the points are still valid for your phone as well. Always check your board for any missing, burned or otherwise damaged looking components. After that replace the battery, reassemble your phone and re-evaluate for any problems. Hope this helps, good luck.

What you may do is letting your iPhone in the rice bag for one or two days, then try to make it start. If it still does not, you may follow the disassembly guide to wash every component in a deoxidizer bath (you're gonna find this on eBay for example) and replace the battery. These things unfortunately happen but you can fix it yourself.
