Why will my iPod not connect to bose anymore

IPod works sluggishly and I have had a Bose dock station for three years it has worked great with. problem, Bose been to repair was hoping that was the problem. IPod has sound, plays music and pandora but will no longer connect with Bose or other speaker/dock system HELP i do not own tv so this is my life and entertainment I miss it. Also when I plug into my computer to update or sink the computer freezes and nothing can be done. all are working interdependently of each other.
