Why wont my computer screen go on?

Hi I recently bought a toshiba netbook and it powers on like you can see the light but you cant see anything on the screen. I connected it to a monitor screen and i can see it working perfectly. Also i changed he screen lately and the cable is connected perfectly.

moe, first off, which Toshiba is it (apparently there is more then one model ;-). To further clarify, you already changed the LCD? Why? An external monitor works? The new screen turns on when you turn on your computer, but you have no data display?

Oldturkey03 Its a Toshiba NB505-n500bl. The reason I changed the lcd was because it was cracked. Yes the new screen turns on but no display i could hear it boot to the windows home.
