How do I fix the lock button on my iPhone 4

I have taken a look at the lock button and the actual mechanism seems to be fine because it clicks perfectly when I push it with my finger. If I buy a new lock button is this guarnteed to fix the problem? Also should I buy just a new button or a whole new mechanism and button? Thank you

If you dismassembled your iPhone yourself, the warantee may not work. Even if you can manually click on the sensor cable, it can and is certainly used and Will no longer work with the button. You Will find a new power sensor cable @ ifixit store for $15 and easily replace it by following their step-by-step replacement guide. I had the same problem :)

Hope I have helped you !
