How do I fix my stuck lock button?

I've taken a look at the lock button and the actual mechanism seems to be fine. I can click it with my finger perfectly but when I try to click the mechanism using the actual button it just doesn't do anything. If I buy a new button is this guaranteed to fix it? If so should I get the metal button or the actual mechanism or both? Thank you

If you dismassembled your iPhone yourself, the warantee may not work. Even if you can manually click on the sensor cable, it can and is certainly used and Will no longer work with the button. You Will find a new power sensor cable @ ifixit store for $15 and easily replace it by following their step-by-step replacement guide. I had the same problem :)

Hope I have helped you !
