Microphone not working after connector installation

I have recently installed a new connector dock because my iphone 4 stopped charging. This was the only issue. Now after installation the phone will charge but the microphone doesn't work and people that I call complain of interference if using a headset to bypass the actual inbuilt microphone.

Would this be because of me touching any parts etc, or a dodgy connection? Please help!

As it is written on the guides, you may take care when reassembling your phone to clean every connector. Even a small dust piece can make it disfunctionnal. Try to dismount it again and clean every one. be also sure to have reconnected well all the connectors.

Hope it will work for you

If you can remember the little bit of adhesive that went on the new microphone, there was a hole cut in that protective film. Well, sometimes that little circular bit is still there after you removed the film which will be directly covering that hole. Then again, I have seen some new ribbons that the mic just didn't even work. -Shrug- Possibly defective.
