Can I upgrade my logic board?

Hi everybody,

I have to replace my iMac's logic board: I want to upgrade it with the logic board of new iMacs with Core i5. Is it possible? I know that could be more expensive than buy a new iMac, but I want to 'give a new life' for my computer.

Sorry for my bad English, I'm Italian.

Thanks!

Your English is just fine! Can you give us the last three digits of your serial number so we can correctly identify your system.

The serial number of my Mac is MB325LL/A

by

Thats not the serial number, but I think we have a match. Review this EveryMac specs. Is this correct?

by

Yes, it is. But I upgraded RAM to 4GB and HDD to 1.5TB.

The best you can hope for here is the next system in this series a 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo (E8435) logic board.

Thank you a lot. Installing a logic board like the iMac MD093LL/A's one is impossible or "only" very difficult?

by

Sorry no, its just not possible, each series and sized systems use very different logic boards and the everything internally is also different.
