Why aren't my speakers and headphones jack working?

I have just finished installing a second hard drive into my computer and the sound is no longer working. When I restart my computer, the startup sound is still there though.

Options

Recheck all your connectors. Most often a connector "looked or seemed" correct when it was not square, snapped in, or ribbon cable not fully inserted, correct side up, cam locked down.
