am trying to replace the intern hard drive on this 2009 24 inch iMac but the Phillips head screw that secures the RAM access door has lost its grooves and the Phillips head screw drivers cannot loosen it. How can I remove the screw?

Depending on how stripped the screw head is, you could try fitting a small piece of paper over the tip of your screwdriver to fill the gaps between it and the screw head. Another trick is a rubber band, but that works for bigger screw heads.
