Why isnt my mac letting me sign in?

Every time i go to sign in it says that the password is wrong when i am 100% sure it is right.

Might be you have your caps lock down when you shouldn't. OR your HD has corruption. Try booting from the original install disk - that might bypass your pass word. On that disk there is a password reset application, you might have to use it.

i don't have the original disk and the password is 1234 caps wouldn't effect that but i figured out that the hard drive is shot. This computer was my grandfathers so i don't have the boot up disk :/

Any commercial Mac OS disk (from OS 8.6 to no more recent than 10.4.11.) would work. Call Apple Support
