Replaced part, now sound is tinny

I replaced the magsafe board of my 2011 macbook, and slightly damaged one of the speaker connectors but still managed to clip it back into its place.

The computer works fine in all aspects apart from now the sound is slightly altered-the quality is not as good and has a 'tinny' aspect to it.

What steps do I now need to take? New to all this and not sure of what to do!

Many thanks.

great, thanks! I did however just do a sound test in my system preferences and moved the slider to check the left and the right speakers. Both sides are working at the same consistent low quality! Not sure if this changes things...
