replace screen for retina

would there be a way to replace the screen on the non-retina MBP for a retina display?

What you write was true for that model but the 2012 MBP utilize the same CPU, and GPU. As for vram i'm not sure. most people who have asked this question use an older model.

Doesn't matter the LDVS signaling is different between the two systems. The connection needs to move twice the data than the non-retina system can offer to the display.

layman's terms because, if you're talking about the pixel amount comparison, the os doesn't provide full resolution anyway.

Well, thats true as well. But, the underlying interconnecting hardware just won't work.
