iPhone 4s: rubber spacer between chip and heat shield missing

Block Image

I lost one of the rubber spacers that goes between the metal shield and chipset, it is the one located on the front side of the phone towards the bottom, approximate size 3/16"x1/4" (alternatively the opposite side but similar location as the Qualcomm chip). Will not having this affect the phone's function? What are these rubber spacers for anyways? I'm guessing conducting heat away from the ship to the heat shield??

***edit: It's the yellow highlighted chip in the picture aka Skyworks 77464-20 Load-Insensitive Power Amplifier (LIPA®) module developed for WCDMA applications.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hello!

It should not affect the iphone from operating normally. I myself have misplaced one before. Not a major deal.

As I understand it they act as a thermal agent to help dissipate heat off the chip. But I may be wrong on that.

Hope this helps!
