People can hear me only through the speakerphone

I reassembled my phone and put a new battery and home button. now when I call people and they call me they can't hear me the regular way nor with headphones. they can only hear me when I use the speakerphone. I can hear them with no problem using any method.

I think I might accidentally damaged the dock part of the iPhone but I am not 100% sure . Is there any way the problem is not in the dock part? do you think I should try and buy a new one?

what steps should I make before buying a new one to confirm it is the problem? thank you guys.

it is so annoying that people can't hear me! can't talk using speaker forever...

i don't think the dock connector is your problem, if the dock connector is false you should still be able to use the mic in the headphones.

does the iphone still play music? could be the headphone jack

I can still hear music with the head phones and I can still hear people as well.

ye sure with the loudspeaker. the same way as I can hear people.

ok news flash: I think I can speak with the microphone it is just that my headphone's microphone doesn't work. so the problem is when speaking the regular way. so now the problem is probably the dock right?

nukito, the audio IC is a Cirrus Logic Audio IC 338S0589 and amongst other places, it is available here as well as right here. It will need a reball to replace it. Like I mentioned before, replace the dock connector first.

Ok I've ordered the dock connector.

by the way there is no possible way that the problem is in the audio IC I was talking before reassembling the phone and I didn't damage it...

I am with you on that, that is why I suggested you start with the dock connector. Your error does not sound like an audio IC error...

any idea why I can't hear with the headphones? does it have to do something with the dock connector?
