No mic on video after changing on/off button

I've changed the proximity sensor and now the mic isn't working when recording videos. I've made sure that the hole next to the mic is free from debris and changed the sensor which I bought from another supplier and hardly touched it during fitting but its still not working. Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Thanks for reading, all suggestions are welcome.

could be a faulty part. i test them before i install them

I've fitted 4 now from different suppliers with the same results. How do you test them?
