I'd reset the PMU and PRAM to see if that makes any difference. I'm sure you've looked at your sleep settings, but if not, I'd take a look there and see if the machine is falling asleep when it's set to, or at a different time.

It doesn't seem there's a definitive answer to the problem, but here's an interesting thread on the issue:
