My MacBook 13'' 2010 does not charge anymore

Should I just buy a battery? It did say "Replace soon."

Yes - batteries do not last forever. Under proper use 3 to 5 years is the length of a laptop battery, but you can kill one in months if you don't follow proper discharge/charging procedures.

Batteries have software that shows "cycle" counts - many batteries with cycles over 300 are nearing the end of their life time. Lithium-based batteries like the one in your computer have a useful life of 400-500 charge cycles. A properly maintained notebook battery should maintain 80% health for 300 cycles.

You may need a new charger if it is a charger problem, but yes you should buy a new battery and when in use a little tip is to take the battery out but keep the charger in it helps save the battery
