The phone will not stay powered on unless it is connected to the charger. The battery shows 100% but will power off when disconnected.

Stanley, I would start with a new battery. The 100% could just be a "red herring". When you replace the battery, check your connectors. Make sure that there is not corrosion or any other damage with that.
