i have this iPhone... i want to download alot of games... but it keeps saying "update iOS 4.3 equired" or "not compatible"... my dad says it was updated to the latest version (iOS 4.2.1 8C148) but i dont believe him... can i have help please??

try downloading a 4.3 from some website. that's what i did.

Sorry, but you're dad's right this time. Apple discontinued support for the 3G whit the release of iOS 4.3. That was in 2011 when the 3G was already 3 years old and had been discontinued.
The 3G just doesn't have the processing power to run the games that require iOS 4.3 or above.

Is this thread dead? My iPhone 3GS Is still my go-to no frills smartphone in 2022. The service with AT&T and Others is spotty at best…. But that’s when my bag phone and/or Mountain Dew promo pager get to pay a little rent. Hey, No body rides for free.
