I had earlier asked a question regarding the problems faced in my keypad,is it difficult task to open up the keypad and clean it up with isoprophyl.My earlier question remains unanswered hence this one,to change the keypad becomes a most expensive one in india.Please guide me,since my machine is out of action for the past one week.Thank you

Had to double check - Sorry your keyboard is likely riveted. Early versions have screws and rivets. In either case I don't think you can take it apart with any success.
The only option I see here is taking the key caps off and using a non-lubracating spray cleaner (100% alcohol) spray around the keys that are in trouble. Just make sure the run off doesn't drip across the other keys. Otherwise you'll need to strip down the system to get everything off that could be damaged and then immersing the entire top case with just the keyboard assembly into distilled water to dissolve any water soluble junk or use a good quality of Isopropyl alcohol if the junk you spilled in is oil. Using compressed air dry thoroughly.

on an iBook g4 (or ur computer) there should be two switches... one to ur left... one to ur right (they should have a little long bump on them, they may not) pull down on them, then lift up... good luck :)

I am awaiting your response to tackle this challenging issue,service engineer says the keypad is riveted and cannot be opened ,if at all you open it it cannot be refitted,kindly guide me,it is very expensive in INDIA.An interesting anecdote was a year ago I had an issue with optical drive service provider said to change the optical drive which was an expensive one and I repaired with the advice from I FIX IT without spending anything,please advice me.
