I had problem with black display (nVidia card problem). I follow ifixit tutorial for logic board replacement. Take it and bake logic board in oven for 9 min. on 190 degrees celsius.

It fix black display problem and everything work but after that I have no sound.

Did I forgot to conect something or something else is problem. How sound work?

Thanks

The oven bake idea is really not the best way to fix this problem. More often than not the problem will reappear again. The correct approach is to remove the GPU and re-ball the logic boar with the correct high temp solder. You need to have the correct tools to do this right.

What has happened now is one or more SMD devices shifted on the board or you melted the headphone socket (which has a switch in it)

Try to check the connection between the left i/o board and the logic board.

I had the same problem with audio and the left USB port after reflow.

I checked the connections to the logic board. After that nothing worked anymore.

I could not even power it up. I checked everthing and was near to give up.

The last thing I did was to disconnect and reconnect this connection between the boards and all of a sudden everything worked. Later I noticed that there was no AirPort card in the system.

This card is also connected to the left i/o board. So I cleaned the connection between the left i/o board and the logic board with http://www.amazon.de/Kontakt-WL-0-2L-710...

After that everything was fine.
