battery won't charge after Airport card installed

2 months ago I installed an Airport card according to your directions. The battery is still good (used a software program to determine this), but has continually lost charge since Airport installed. I want to uninstall Airport card but not sure where the antenna plugs back in. Please help.

Hi, I'm not 100% sure I'm answering your question but will try. If you look at the antenna in the exploded picture you will see just to the right what appears to be a gap. Based on my experience I think you place the cable in the gap. If you are concerned about it getting loose you can use a small piece of tape to hold it in place. Did the airport card work properly? You do know you can turn it off to save power drain when you don't need it--just go to system preferences/network/airport and select turn airport off. Good luck. Ralph

I agree with Ralph -- turn off the Airport and see if you're still losing power. I suspect that the Airport is really not the problem at all, and if the problem still exists with the Airport turned off, I would consider the Airport ruled out as a possibility and start exploring other avenues. Also, this is a very old laptop, and most original batteries for it are at least a little flaky at this point, so could it be that the battery is simply starting to go? Maybe it would be worth swapping it with another in order to verify that the same issue occurs with every battery.
