iPhone 4 replacement screen works but doesn't turn on

Hi, you may find this quite confusing. I replaced my iphone 4 screen but it doesn't turn on.

So I took the back cover off and just plugged in my old screen (without dismantling the phone and removing the new screen) and it turned on fine. I then left it on while I reconnected the new screen and everything works fine, until I turn it off then I need to connect the old screen to get it on again. I've tried resetting it, charging it and synchronising it.

So both the screens work but only the old cracked one allows you to turn ON the iPhone. It doesn't make any sense. Any ideas

It sounds like there may still be an issue with the new screen. I would make sure there isnt any corrosion or signs of water damaged up around those LCD and Digitizer connectors on the motherboard and try a new screen. If you still have the same issue with a 2nd screen, then it is possible its a motherboard issue. Possibly something damaged during the teardown or reassembly. But I've done about 1,000 iphone 4 and 4s screen replacements and my general finding is that if the new one doesnt turn on the LCD correctly or any issues at all....Its usually the aftermarket screen to blame.

Make sure you order a good quality part from a reputable vendor. This will help to ensure you get a better quality part and have less trouble with them. Bad LCD's are the most common issue I've seen on those aftermarket screens.

Hope this helps!
