My problem is that the battery on my ipod is dead and it won't charge at all and don't know why. And no I haven't had it near any water. Can you help me please?

your ipod battrery has probably died and you need a new battery you can order on this site and it will show you how to take apart your ipod and install a new battery.

It may just be the battery. If you would tell us which iPod touch you havem,we could probably help you a lot better
