won't turn on after opening and cleaning home button

I took the phone part using the guide on this site, I cleaned my home button of dust etc and put it back together reversing the steps in the guide.

Now when I went to turn it on (and was planning on being very proud of myself) nothing!

I can see the screen goes to very dark blue, (so some response) but it will not do anything else. I have tried a hard reset but this doesn't do anything but the vague 'lighting up' as I described above.

I hope I can solve this with someones help because i tried this DIY because I cannot afford a new phone (and i was beyond warranty)
