Hello,
The glass of the LCD screen of my mbp 13 mid 2009 cracked and I would like to replace the broken glass.
I have checked the tutorial and seen that among the required tools is a heating gun. I would like to know if I can buy and use the i-opener instead of the heating gun, as for the iPad screen.

You could use either. Mind you the heat gun will allow you to heat up the glass hotter so the adhesive will have less tack than the iOpener, but you'll need to be careful with the heat gun as you don't want to melt any of the plastic with too hot a blast and you need to move it around to warm the entire glass.
