Wont turn on after screen repair

hi i just disassembled my ipod tough 4th gen for a screen replacement, i charged it for a while prior to me disassembling it and heard the apple charge sound come on, after taking it apart and replacing the screen it doesn't seem to be charging, the screen is blank and my computer doesn't seem to be recognizing it? please help thanks
