Extremely low sound from external speaker

I bought an iPhone 4 from Facebook in bits. I bought a new screen, dock connector and power button ribbon cable. I have assembled the device everything works apart from no sound from the external speaker. I can hear it if I put the speaker to my ear and the volume works. I have tried a new dock connector and speaker enclosure but the prob still persists. I've tried the usual fixes ie squeezing bottom right comer and tapping it on the bottom right corner (which worked before not now) which resulted in crackling and then sound now nothing

have you tried replacing the speaker mesh? if its dirty it can hold a lot of the volume down...

It's the external speaker not the earpiece

I know, there are also 2 speaker mesh at the bottom. 1 for mic and 1 for external speaker
