No WiFi in iPhone 3G unlocked and Jailbroken

Mi iPhone 3G, 16gb, unlocked and jailbroken, was working fine , until some days ago when it does not have WiFi reception. I go to settings, WiFi :without connection, I select WiFi, turn it Off and On..but it does not pick up a signal..

Any advise on how to find how to get the WiFi working or diagnose what is wrong?

Options

The wifi on apple's devices has always been very shotty, and unreliable, at least in my case. Don't try updateing to OS 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 because it will update the baseband to 5.12.** and you will lose the unlockability if you haven't already.

it has version 3.1.2 (7D11) and firmware 05.11.07... my bluetooth and GPS are working, so it looks like is not an antenna problem...any ideas?
