Removing isight cable from logic board

I followed the video instructions here in iFixit to remove my logic board. Very useful.

However, the socket/plug for what I believe is the isight cable looked different to the one on the video, and I couldn't work out whether to lift up or pull horizontally. Actually I didn't get much chance to find out, as I gently pried it loose with my spudger the wire came off, but leaving the plug in the socket.

Help! What do I do now? I can't get the plug out of the socket, and I've a cable that ends...

Apparently you missed/overlooked step #5. At this point a trip to an electronics repair shop (computer repair shop) might solve your problem. Soldering logic board components is not a DIY project - it requires special tools, solder and lots & lots of practice... failing that if you can remove the connector (now that you know how) you might be able to replace the cable.

Thanks. I followed these steps, and the connector on both of my MBPs looks different to the one in your instructions, and this was where the issue was.

The rest of the instructions were great.
