Keyboard keys are ingored while typing

Hello Guys! I really need your help... I replaced the touchscreen digitizer on my Ipad 1 3G and everything seemed great except that with the new touchscreen I immediately realized that while typing the keyboard keys: L,K,S,A,G are not responding correctly.. In other words, I really have to press hard or tap the keys a couple of times before I see it.. Everything else works fine... When I swipe back and forth or when scrolling that all is fine... If it wasn't for all those keys. What shall I do?

Mark, of course you do want to check your work, make sure all the connectors are properly seated and that the cable is not kinked. "I really have to press hard or tap the keys a couple of times " leads me to believe that you have a bad digitizer. I would contact the vendor and exchange the digitizer. Hope this helps, good luck.

I would think that it might be the digitizer but then everything nowadays is Made in China : )...

Are those areas of the screen hard to use or is it just while using the keyboard?

I've noticed that it is only when the keyboard comes up I'm getting this problem because when I swipe, try to scroll a site, or just hit the icons on the home screen everything is fine...
