Slider bar not working

Dropped the phone a couple of times in one day. I have it in an otter box. The slider does not work , so I can't open it. I've got as far as the password lock , but it will not let me type in the password. Do I need a new front panel?

Yes I'm afraid you do need a new screen as you have damaged the digatizer
