Replaced Trackpad now Click Doesn't work

So the glass on my old touchpad broke and I ordered an OEM trackpad to replace it. I got it all back in (reused the cable) and everything works but the click. Touch works fine, but no click.

I tried adjusting the torx screw in a bunch of different ways, no difference. So I then put in the old trackpad with broken glass. That doesn't work either, touch fine, no click.

What could I be missing? It must be some way i'm mounting it. Does the tension on the two little metal pieces that hold it in place matter? Any tips?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Can you clarify what you mean by Click here. Does the button plate depress correctly (depresses & springs back) or does the system fail to acknowledge the press of the plate? Do you get it to sense the press on one or more edges?

You probably need to get new screws.

You think the little screws on the top of the trackpad are messed up?
