screen comes on but doesn't work!

Recently i got an new screen for my iphone 3gs as it was cracked. i have replaced the screen properly and made sure all the connectors are properly in! i have restored the iphone and it comes on and goes to the set up iphone menu, nothing on the phone responds and i dont know what to do with it. My friend who is good with phones also tried putting the connectors back in and it still doesn't work,

hopefully someone can help me out!

Options

Try restoring again. If not, replace the glass panel assembly, as you probably have a damaged digitizer. Also, try reseating the connectors yourself. Some people who claim they are good with electronics are people who are egocentric and have upgraded the memory or something simple like that.
