How do I get iPhone 3GS out of DFU mode with white screen?

Hi,

I’m stuck in a DFU loop mode and the phone will not boot up. When I do a tethered, “Just Boot” through Redsnow, I get a white screen, then yellow, than black with streaks of green. After a few minutes it goes back to “DFU mode, new BR”

On Windows Vista, I am trying to upgrade the 3GS from 4.1 to 5.0.1 firmware. Here are the specifications on the phone:

Model: MC555LL/A – Factory Unlocked Iphone 3GS

Current Installed Firmware: 5.0.1

Previous Firmware: 4.1 (3 days ago)

Baseband: 06.15.00-6.4_M3S2

Serial Number: xx1449xxxxx

IMEI: 012856005838140

This is what I have done in the last 3 days:

1. Downloaded 3GS 5.0.1 firmware file from: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.ph...

2. Ran Redsn0w. Verified my existing SHSH blobs on Cydia. I have 4.1, 5.0.1, and 6.1.3

3. Created custom ISPW with firmware downloaded earlier. Chose "Yes", when asked, "Is this newer model of Iphone 3GS?"

4. Put it in pwned DFU mode.

5. Ran Tiny Umbrella and started TSS Server (to bypass 3194 error code). I also deleted anything "Apple" in the host file: windows/system32/drivers/etc/host

6. Ran Itunes and press shift-restore. Chose my custom ISPW: NO_BB_iPhone2,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore

7. Got error 1600-1601 a bunch of times. Tried all the USB ports and 3 different Apple USB chords. Tried a different computer with no luck. Restarted the computer and tried again the next day and it finally worked and installed 5.0.1 on the 3GS

8. Performed tethered boot through Redsnow. Phone worked normally.

9. Installed Ultrasnow from Cydia and unlocked the phone. Made a test phone call.

10. Installed Corona 5.0.1 from Cydia to untether it (this did not work even though it says installed. I still have to boot tethered through Redsnow)

11. Phone continued to work great for 15-20 minutes then stopped booting up. Got white screen, green screen, than freezes on white screen with streaks)

12. Tried a bunch of restores/recovery fixes to get the screen back and nothing worked. Took apart the phone, removed battery for 30 minutes. Put it back together and worked normally for a while. But after few minutes went back to DFU mode with white screen AGAIN.

13. Took the phone apart a second time! And again it booted up normally and worked great…for a few minutes. Now it’s back to DFU mode and you know the drill…

-From what I've read 3194 error has to do with SHSH blobs not being correct. This is probably why I can't unthether as well. What am I doing wrong?

-Also, error 1600's has to do with USB cables and ports - I've already tried 3 different cables, still nothing. I don't even know how I got it to work that one time.

-Or maybe the stock 5.0.1 firmware is corrupt? I'm re-downloading it again now. I'm also downloading 6.1.3 firmware just to try it.

Would appreciate any help.

Upgrade to iOS 6.1.3. It is the only thing you can do.
