How can I repair my shell if its damaged?

hi,

Recently my MacBook Pro shell became damaged so badly the screen completely detached. Its hanging there like a limb off a zombie. The great news is that everything still works.

I was curious...i have a 17" PowerBook that i dont use because the LCD screen has these horrible lines threw it . could i just take the screen casing of the PowerBook and reassembly it to the MacBook Pro? Would the screen casing of the PowerBook fit the MacBook Pro LCD?

I don't believe the top from a PowerBook would work on a MacBook Pro. Here is a URL for a top that should work. Compare part numbers to be sure. Ralph
