I just received my new front panel assembly and between the home button and the mechanism is piece of plastic obviously for packing purposes, however I can't remove it, it seems stuck rendering the button inoperative.I don't want to break it. What should I do?

I ended up sending the piece back and upgrading to a new 32g Ipod.

I bought the same assembly for my ipod touch 2g frow SW-Box, Hong Kong. I also found a piece of plastic behind the home button. I was convinced it was packaging, it was not! It was the piece that gives you the nice feedback and clicking feeling when you hit the home button. Do not remove!
