Display problem after replacing screen

My macbookpro internal screen went black one day several months ago. Hooking up an external monitor worked normally. I ordered a LCD replacement screen from ifixit and followed the ifixit instructions to replace it. The new screen is working better but there is a display problem. The text and photos are not sharp. Small text is unreadable. Turning down the resolution from the native 1440x900 does help but it still is not sharp. I tried resetting the PRAM without any success. I did a cmd+shift+3 and the image when I look at it on another display look totally normal. I think it is a hardware display problem. I have already replaced the screen twice with new displays and have had the same results. I am out of ideas. Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

What does the image look like when you connect to an external monitor, still fuzzy?

by

The image on the external monitor when connected is perfect.

Thanks for the response. What else can I do to make sure I got the right display? I have a A1260 model macbook pro and I bought the display for that model. If it is a damaged display cable, how can I diagnose that problem or replace that cable?

Thanks again.

Very odd ...

The only thing I can think of here is you may have damaged the displays cable or connector. Some how the data feed to the internal display is not getting through cleanly. Otherwise you could have gotten the wrong display, but most of the time when I put the wrong one in it just doesn't work or clearly shows missing rows.

Do you still have the original display you took out? If you do was it the complete assembly display or just the raw LCD? You'll need to get to the back of the raw LCD looking for the manufactures name and model number and compare it to your current LCD is it the same or different?
