My touch screen wont respond?

The screen on my 8gig is not damaged or cracked, it just stopped responding. Apple genius bar said I need a new "digitizer?"

Yes, the part you'll probably end up replacing however is the LCD, which is sold with the integrated digitizer (just make sure before you buy), iFixit doesn't sell it, but you can find a plethora of them online, if you are willing to shell out the extra money to make an easier fix, you can get the entire display assemble here.
