Why won't my computer turn on?
My computer will not turn on. It stopped working the week before Easter. The day after Easter, right after I ordered it a new battery online, my computer turned on again and started working. The new battery came in the mail a couple days later and after replacing my very old and very dead battery, my computer still worked. (I know my problem is not a battery/power adaptor issue.) After about a week, my computer died again and has not turned on since. I replaced the PRAM battery and that did not help. When I press the power button, the screen stays black and there is no start up chime. The front power light does light up however, both of the fans turn on and the optical drive starts to spin. I was able to get the optical drive to grab a CD, but I cannot get my computer to give me the CD back. The keyboard does not light up and is unresponsive. My computer behaved this way before I bought it a new battery or replaced the PRAM. At this point I have no other ideas of what could possibly be wrong with my computer.
Is this a good question?

Did you get your system wet or drop it at some point during it's life? Other than replacing the battery have you done anything else, like replace the HD or add/replace the RAM?

This MBP model has a well documented issue with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphic card. I would bring the computer at the Apple Store to check it out.

My computer has never been dropped nor has it had any liquids spilt on it. It is in excellent condition considering its age and only has one tiny scratch on it from a paper clip. I have not replaced the HD or RAM. I will have to wait a few weeks to take it into the Apple store, I am at school right now and the closest one is about 3 hours away. Thanks for the advice!
