Home button does not activate home screen

Recently replaced battery in 3GS. Everything worked fine for a few days. Now when I press the Home Button nothing happens. If I press the On/Off button I get the home screen. If I plug in the charger I get the home screen. But nothing happens when home button is pressed. Thanks for your guidance.

Millsp2000, It seems your home button is unresponsive, that may be due to when you replaced the battery you touched the two pins of the home button, which might of short circuited it. use a multimeter on the two pins and check that you didn't. If you did then that's a bigger problem.

Also if the pins look flattened try gently lift them up a bit that can also cause them to be unresponsive.

Hope this helps your problem.

Jordan.

Thanks for your help. However, good news: I synch the unit which went OK. I then did a complete shutdown (twice) and synch once more.

Everything seems to be back on track now, So I'm hoping that it might have been a glich. But thanks again for your quick help.
