phone got wet and wont turn on?

so ive lay my wifes iphone face down on a very small puddle of spilt tea while charging, i realised straight away so picked the phone up and wiped it dry. it seemed to be ok for a couple mins then just kind of died. so ive dried the phone out for aroud four days but my thoughts are its to late. ive tested the battery and its ok, also tested the mother board wich is also functioning perfect. so anyone got any ideas what could be wrong? my suspicions are the wet got in the top end of the phone as i can see some evidence near the top in the inside but again its not alot.

thanks in advance

If the battery as well as the logic board functions in another set up, I would suggest to take a good look at the power flex and connectors. You definitely want to check for corrosion as well as other damage.

Remove the battery immediately and try to clean off any corrosion from the logic board, you'll probably need to replace the battery too.

I wouid see if iTunes can detect it. If it does would do a bit of harm to try a new screen.
