Why won't my phone charge?

I just recently changed the housing on my iphone 5 and now my charging port won't work. I also used a charger that I bought from a chinese website. I don't know if the charger works because it was the first thing i plugged in after changing the housing and now the phone wont charge at all or connect to itunes. I don't live anywhere near an apple store so I wasn't worried about warranty replacement.

I also just replaced the charging port on the phone and it still won't work. It's dead now and the hard reset (power and home button) just sends me back to the dead battery screen.PLEASE HELP ME!!!
