Right speaker buzz very loud on start up and log in

This happens on start up before the chime and then goes away until log in, where it will continue to buzz very loud. This buzzing goes on even if the speakers are keyed off.....

I took the 1GHz iBook apart and inspected the cables for damage and found none, no pinch points or frays or other damage.

I started up the iBook while taken apart and noted the speakers do not make the loud buzz sound anymore. Occasionally, the speaker don't seem to work, or respond to keyed volume changes, (I.E. 'popping' sound when F3orF5 keys are pushed) in one account but will work in the other

Any ideas WTF is up with my issue?

Answer this question I have this problem too

On a box that age

It could be a dried out, or a torn speaker cone You can check with a magnifying glass - It should be simple to replace the speaker if you can solder... if not take it to an electronics shop.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.

Good Luck,

N.
