blue screen, black arrow. Need to eject cd.

Need to find out how to get to the terminal from blue screen with pointer. Have new battery, checked the ram and it works & is inserted correctly. Want to type "drutil eject" to remove stuck dvd.

I have a macbook pro which I could hot-wire to the A1181 macbook. Would that work? What commands would I need to eject the dvd from the macbook from the macbook pro?

Hold down the space bar or mouse (track pad) at startup. That should eject the DVD unless it's warped or the opening is deformed.

Else you'll have to remove the drive and its top in order to remove the disk.

This answer was originally to another question.

drutil is a command. It can take a number of arguments, but you're interested in just one, eject. The correct usage is with a space between them: drutil eject

What's the problem with the disk in the drive? If I recall correctly, you have to hold down a key (option?) to tell a Macbook to boot from a disk - otherwise it just boots as normal.
